"My book-like paintings, is a medium for documenting my ideas, thoughts and emotions.”
Aidi is an Indonesian realist-surrealist artist who creates semi-installation works by modifying the canvas to look like a book. Aidi believes that, when creating a work, an artist is not only expressing himself but also documenting his deep understanding of the world within and without, and recording traces of these thoughts and feelings on the canvas. The themes in Aidi's paintings revolve around human interaction with nature, and highlights the viable harmony and resulting marvel of a mindful coexistence.
